Good meow from The Mew! Today is a very special day because it is the first time that we welcome a musical act to open our adoption cat interview show. “Why?” you ask? This is because our guest today has her very own theme song. Give it up for the Cover Cats, performing their rendition of Champion The Wonder Horse entitled “Marble the Wonder Cat”!

“Hem, hem.

Marble the Wonder Cat

Marble the Wonder Cat

Like a streak of lightnin’ flashin’ ‘cross the sky

Like the swiftest arrow whizzin’ from a bow

Like a mighty cannonball she seems to fly

You’ll hear about her everywhere you go

The time will come when everyone will know

The name of Marble the Wonder Cat

Marble the Wonder Cat!

If you walk through cat adoption

There’s one cat that calls to you

The legends say that it’s Marble

And you know what to do!

Whip out your trusty wand toy

And whiz it all around

Marble will jump and twist in air

Until she’s tired on the ground

Then you both can sit and listen

to the now quiet cat room

Marble loves to get her pets

After she’s gotten to zoom, zoom, zoom!

Marble the Wonder Cat

Marble the Wonder Cat”

Q: Now, I don’t want to offend you or anyone else, but some people who look at you right now would be surprised that this is your theme song!

A: Oh! I think I see what you’re getting at. You’re saying I’m surprisingly nimble for being shaped like a marble?

Q: Well, yes.

A: The “like a cannonball” line is meant to be taken literally.

Q: And you’re ten years old, so one would think…

A: Age is just a number. And so is weight. You should know by now that we cats love to defy stereotypes. I’m just as active now as I was five years ago. And let me clarify that my playfulness has never bothered anyone. I am here looking for a new home because of unforeseen, unfortunate circumstances- through no ones fault, and certainly not mine.

Q: We love your spunk.

A: Thank you. My ancestors, whoever they are, gave me some good blood. I’m healthy and young at heart. But, let me tell you a secret.

Q: What’s that?

A: Like a lot of glamorous older women such as myself, I don’t have many of my teeth.

Q: What!

A: Call it the price I pay for all of those youthful indulgences, but I had to have some of them taken out. Could you tell?

Q: No, not at all. You look half your age at least. No sign of any dental work.

A: That’s good. I hired the right dentist then.

Q: Indeed. We are running out of time here, but is there anything else you would like to say to our audience before we meow off?

A: Take your stereotypes and then bat them with your paw! You are more than others’ perception of you. Let your light shine through and be your true self. Meow, Mew!
