Due to the potential for heavy rain forecast for Tuesday night, the Santa Barbara Humane Society will be open early and late for free emergency boarding for dogs and cats Monday the 19th and Tuesday the 20th. Evacuees can come as early as 8AM. Please call if you will be arriving after 5pm, so that we can expedite the process for you.

The Santa Barbara Humane Society is open to take in dogs and cats from evacuation areas effective immediately. Please bring your vaccination records or be prepared to call your vet for verbal confirmation. We will vaccinate upon intake for animals who are not up-to-date or are without records.

All other small animals can be accommodated at Santa Barbara County Animal Services (right next door to us on Overpass Road).

Horses and other large animals can be taken care of at the Earl Warren Showgrounds.
